Wow! What a year it has been! The Lord is good and worthy to be praised! I praise Him for what He has done and what He is continuing to do in my life and lives all across this beautiful world. I praise Him for giving us people like you who have followed us, encouraged us, and prayed for us as we have experienced His love and greatness as we placed 2018 completely into His hands!
Over the past year, we have had countless gospel conversations with people from over 10 different countries! We have gotten to testify of God's love for His children and the sweet and powerful gift of salvation. From Honduras to the Philipines, South Africa to Germany, the Lord has put so many people in our paths that have encouraged us to keep sharing God's wonderful gift of salvation and what it means to have a relationship with God, the creator of the universe. We have gotten to share our passion for the gospel to be spread with numerous people from the States as well: people from Alabama, Alaska, Mississippi, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Virginia! (just to name a few)
Wow, the Lord is good and has proven to be faithful and compassionate to His children!
“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!” Psalms 34:8 ESV
So what now!?!?
Now, we head home in less than five days!
We head home still on mission! On mission to see people come and taste that the Lord is good. Just as we have tasted many different foods over the course of the year (some good, some not so good), they are hard to describe if you've never had it for yourselves. Some things that I have tasted were delicious but to describe them just doesn't do it justice. The same goes for the Lord! Until you experience Jesus Christ, a relationship with Him and the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life, for yourself, describing it to others isn't even a drop in the bucket!
“Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” 1 Peter 2:2-3 NLT
Recently, we were reading about how Jesus was on mission and mission minded. We were reading about the woman at the well, a story familiar to most! Jesus and his disciples were on their way to Jerusalem and were passing through Samaria, a route that most Jews would bypass to avoid the Samaritans. He stops by a well, because He is tired and asks a woman for a drink of water. The conversation and interactions between Jesus and the woman, in that day, were frowned upon and unheard of. Even so, Jesus continues and tells her of the living water that He brings and gives to those who believe. He tells her about all of her past, the stuff she wanted to keep hidden! After more conversation, she believes that He is the messiah. What the woman does next is what challenges me! So she has had this encounter with Jesus, she has been changed and has tasted of the goodness of God! Now what? She goes back to her home to testify and share about the encounter she has had with Jesus. Jesus doesn't prompt her to tell her to go or who to share with, she just goes and tells everyone who would listen!
“So he came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there; so Jesus, wearied as he was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour. A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink." (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, "How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water." The woman said to him, "Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock." Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water." Jesus said to her, "Go, call your husband, and come here." The woman answered him, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You are right in saying, 'I have no husband'; for you have had five husbands, and the one you now have is not your husband. What you have said is true." The woman said to him, "Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship." Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth." The woman said to him, "I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things." Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am he." Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he was talking with a woman, but no one said, "What do you seek?" or, "Why are you talking with her?" So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, "Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?" They went out of the town and were coming to him.” John 4:5-30 ESV

So what now?!
Now, we go back and tell everyone who will listen what God has done! God has done tremendous things in our lives; we have had times of unspeakable joy and courage-things and experiences that we want to share with you but are to difficult to put into words. We would love to try and share with you in person, but more importantly we want you to experience these things for yourself! So if you are reading this and you are a close friend or family member,(Rachel) get ready because we may just talk your ear off when we get back about how awesome our God is!
“We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.”” Acts 4:20 NLT
If this answer is good enough for Peter and John, it's good enough for me!

If you want to know more about how to taste of the Lord's goodness just as the Samaritan woman at the well did, please text or message us! If you are in the states, we would love to have coffee, breakfast, lunch or ice cream with you to share and encourage you to taste for yourself. We would love to help you and show you just how you can do that. If you are one of our many friends abroad and want to learn more or just hear about what all we have gotten to do that we haven't gotten to share on our blog, message us, video call us, or come visit! We are continuing to pray for each of you and that you would come to know God and experience life with Him personally.

We aren't sure of the details of how God wants us to follow his commands to share the gospel, we will just take that one day at a time, one conversation at a time. So for now we say so long to blogging and writing until God lays on our hearts to write again! We hope that this has helped and encouraged you as much as it has us. We love each and everyone of you who reads this and are so thankful for you! For those of you on the journey of living life with Christ we would love to hear from you and what God is doing in your life! If you aren't living life following Christ and living for him, or if you don't have anything to share about what God is doing in your life, then let us know. We want to help you recieve the gift of salvation and join in on a tremendous life filled with joy and love that comes through knowing our creator!
